Fibertec Window & Door Mfg. offers a wide variety of Architectural fiberglass shapes with either straight or segmented curved frames. These fiberglass windows are fixed and do not open thus providing narrow sight lines and more glass area. Shaped windows look good by themselves or even in combination with other window styles such as casement windows or awning windows. SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARD SERIES SPECIFICATIONS: 3¼″ Pultruded Fiberglass frame, completely filled with laser die cut polystyrene, injection molded reinforced aluminum corner joints with a polyurethane foam fill and sealed with silicone sealant. Segmented pieces are connected to form an architectural shaped window. (Certain shapes are not available with brickmould)
SIZES AVAILABLE: Depending on the shape required, certain limitations are involved. Fibertec manufactures to sizes specified +/- 1/8″ (3.17mm) industry tolerance.
GLAZING OPTIONS:
Segmented Fiberglass:
Double glazing with Fiberglass glass stop – 7/8” sealed unit with 5/8” air space.
Triple glazing (option) – 1 9/16” seal units.
Composite Shape:
Double glazing – 1” sealed unit with 3/4” air space.
Triple glazing (option) – 1” sealed units.
Various other optional glazing is available, to suit any climate condition or esthetics. (See glass and glazing page for more information)
PAINT FINISH: Shaped windows available in stock colors: White, Commercial Brown, Slate Grey, Black and Sandalwood (co-colors are also available). All standard frames come with a white interior or can be painted to any requested colour. All frames use an Acrythane water based paint with UV protector. The paint is rated environmentally friendly due to low VOC. Custom colors are available.
ATTACHMENTS: Fiberglass Segmented shapes are available with curved jamb extensions, or strap anchors for installation applications.
Straight architectural shapes available with brickmould (with or with nailing flange) three types.
Composite shapes are available with composite brickmould and curved jamb extensions. (Using bendable plywood)
INSTALLATION: Shall be performed by experienced installers in accordance with manufacturer instructions and CSA A440.4 standards. Window shall be plumb and square after installation is complete and sealed to both interior and exterior wall with high quality sealant around the perimeter of the frame. If perimeter cavity is to be foamed, additional anchorage may be required to prevent bowing. It shall be the responsibility of the installers to make all necessary final adjustments to ensure normal and smooth operation.
MAINTENANCE: Occasional cleaning of glass and frame components with a non-abrasive detergent is recommended. Clean and lubricate hinge tracks as required.
