Never having to worry about chipping paints or need to repaint is an amazing advantage. As mentioned in the article, it does mean that choosing the color of your windows is important, as it will be a fairly permanent choice. This is why I feel it’s necessary to get color samples to hold up to the house to see how the contrast will look.

      Hi Gaston,
That’s a possible option, or if you live in the area of our showroom located in Concord Ontario, just North of Toronto, you can swing by and we can show you the variety of options you can choose from. You could also take a look at our colour options page or even our gallery to see how others chose custom colours for their fiberglass windows which is also an option.

      Best Regards,
      Fibertec Window and Door Mfg.

I like how you said, “contemporary and modern style homes are well known to be plastered with large fixed windows for the “glass wall” style”. There are different styles of windows that go better with different styles of houses, but the large windows are my favorite style. It allows tons of natural light in the home, and with energy efficient windows, you can afford it because you don’t lose all the heat in your home.

I really liked all your suggestions for choosing an interesting design for your windows. My husband and I just moved into a new house, and some of the windows will need to be replaced. I think it would look really nice to add some with a custom shape. Would it be a difficult job, considering I would need to cut into the walls to change the shape?

      Hi Kairi,
I wouldn’t suggest cutting into the walls of your existing openings, as this can become a very difficult project. Best is to stick with your current openings

I really like the look of the grilles in your picture; I love how sleek and simple they are. The window in my living room would be a really great candidate for something like that. It’s really big and simple, and I want to add a little style to it. Maybe I’ll get it replaced with a window with a grille.

Good stuff – really enjoy looking into the creativity that can be had with some of the less-thought-of aspects of the home. Custom-shaped windows are an incredible way of making a home really stand out in the neighbourhood!

I do like that the article recommends choosing a window style that matches your home. After all, it is very unlikely that you are going to be replacing every single window in your home. Because of this, you’ll want the style to match so that you do not have to worry about making your home look a bit strange.
