What a transformation it (Fibertec) made to a 55 year old home!

Three years ago, I placed my first order for Fibertec windows, custom colour, double hung, for installation in a Rhode Island USA residence. Fibertec handled all details for manufacturing and exporting the windows. I was completely satisfied with the windows and with the always helpful personnel at Fibertec.
This year in 2010, without hesitation, I again placed a custom size window order with Fibertec for Casement and Awning windows for an ocean front location on White Bay on the Northern Peninsula in Newfoundland. I dealt with the same individual at Fibertec, Steven Hall and Sam Wahid. The order was processed without any problems and delivered on time.
My contractors, in business for 27 years, said these were the sturdiest and smoothest operating windows they had ever installed. They commented that there was a lot more glass than in vinyl and wood windows of the same size because the Fibertec windows, being stronger, have a significantly narrower frame. I appreciate this difference every time I enjoy the ocean and forest views – and the occasional iceberg sighting

I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how much we enjoy our new windows. It was amazing that we could start to feel the difference in the house after they had just two rooms done, and they were not even calked yet. Now that they are all in, the house feels different, as it is both warmer, and surprising to us, your windows seem to make the inside quieter, and not just from outside noise.
I need to also mention to you that our installer loved these windows. He mentioned how heavy they were and how well they were constructed. He is even going to put them on his house soon. It is true that you can see the dedication to your production team must have in their work as it comes through in the quality of the windows you produce. Please pass along a job well done from all of my family to them.

A year after installing Fibertec triple glazed windows and fiberglass doors in our new home. I would like to comment on how happy I am with the total package. With the help of Fibertec, I was able to make the best choice for my location, for heat retention in winter and the ability to remain cool in the summer. We do not have A/C, and have cooled the house through this long July heat wave by opening windows at night, and keeping them closed during the day. My highest indoor temp was 81 F, Which I found very comfortable compared to the high 90’s outdoors.
I have been an R2000 builder since 1995, (no retired) using ICF wall systems and energy efficient windows and doors, and decided that our retirement home would have the best window and door technology. My Energuide test came in at 83, with .31 ach/hr (air change/hour at 50 pascals). This well sealed home does need a high efficient HRV (heat recovery ventilator). I feel that my extra cost for these superior windows and doors is a good investment for the life of this home.

I just wanted to thank you for the new screens. They are perfect.
I also wanted to let you know how happy I have been with my Fibertec Windows. They are now 15 years old and are still like brand new. They are energy efficient, and require no maintenance. If anyone who is thinking of buying your windows wants to speak to someone who has them, I would be delighted to tell them how happy I have been with these windows.

I thought I would begin this letter by saying how easy it is to impress people with our new Fibertec windows. How often can you point out that your windows are U=0.18! Everyone is also amazed when I tell them that the windows on the south side and north side have different low-e coatings. Setting aside the specs that put these windows among the very best that are available, the next selling point is how good the windows feel. Solid is an appropriate adjective for these windows. The opening/closing and locking/unlocking is very smooth. The framing crew who installed our windows usually does high-end houses in the area, and they said that these are easily the best windows they have ever installed. They were also the heaviest!
While it did take several months to finalize our window order, this was mostly because I was looking at several options ... and because I had a very large order! Steven Hall was very patient throughout the process. On more than one occasion I asked him to re-price everything with different features. In addition to explaining all the technical aspects in detail, Steven also made suggestions on window sizing and placement and pointed out several code issues related to bedroom egress and tempered glass. I never had to wait long for a return call or e-mail from Steven.
Our windows were done earlier than originally specified. The payment process was very straight forward. There was a slight miscommunication regarding when to ship, but the trucking company was able to delay delivery until we were ready. The shipment arrived on a large tractor-trailer. I`m not sure when the decision to go with such a big truck was made, but it worked fine for us. People with smaller streets would want to watch out that the delivery vehicle is not too big. The packing for shipment was excellent. I received three 8 foot pallets fully enclosed with 1/2" osb plywood. Windows were placed in these crates with packaging material that ensured a snug fit. Windows were also individually wrapped and had 2x4 blocks to keep the nailing fin off the ground. I did not find any problems with what was delivered and all windows also looked perfect and operated flawlessly upon installation.
I was originally very concerned about the fiberglass finish. On the one hand I wanted performance, but I was also being "lectured" about aesthetics. I ended up with the standard white finish for casement windows. I am happy to report that they do not look anything like vinyl windows. We felt that a different exterior color was going to cost too much, but it turns out that the white exterior looks great. On the interior we will have
painted window trim, but do not plan on painting the window frames at this time. We think the windows will blend in nicely as they are.
From my many conversations with Steven, I am confident that if we have any problems in the near future, Fibertec will take care of us. We have not yet moved into the house. At some point after we move in, I`ll have to take the spec sheet off of the windows. At that point I hope that we can just enjoy having great windows. I`ll continue to tell people about U=0.18, but I think the windows will also continue to make a good impression all by themselves.

When we decided to build our net-zero energy LEED platinum home, we turned to Fibertec Window and Door Mfg. for the ultimate in high performance windows. Our triple glazed, super energy efficient fiberglass windows and doors are a critical component of what will soon become the LivelyUp Café & Sustainability Centre in MacDonald’s Corners – a go to place for instruction, contemplation and celebration of green living in Ontario.
While we will also enjoy the beauty and efficiency of our Fibertec Windows for many years to come, we also enjoyed the overall Fibertec customer experience. The company’s very responsive service, competitive prices and a reassuring warranty all confirmed what brought us to Fibertec in the first place. Their reputation for energy efficiency and overall excellence is well deserved. Thanks Fibertec

Just a quick word to tell you how pleased we are with your product. We have shopped all through North America for windows and we now know that we have made the right choice. We have been getting tons of compliments on our windows and doors. First, the building crew really enjoyed the easy installation : it was quick and straight forward. Also, the high quality of the product made the sealing easy and airtight. One pleasant surprise was how the windows acted as a sound barrier ! In a 80km\h wind storm with trees swinging vilolently, the inside of the house was quiet and peaceful. It truly gave us a sense of protection from the outside environment.

Reaching these sunset years of life is often a source of worry and fear for some people. On the other hand, when the right choices are made you tend to be at ease with life on a whole.
When it comes to decorating your home, where you plan to stay for the rest of your sunset years you’ll be happier if you make the right choices. You often hear the phrase “if these walls could talk”. Recently I came back for the third time to FIBERTEC WINDOW& DOORS, to make purchase of the third set of windows in the pursuit to upgrade my summer home in Jamaica, West Indies. The first set of windows purchased from FIBERTEC was far more superior to the windows I had in the house from the original construction. These windows did not only add beauty and elegance to the home but it kept the house cooler in the process. They also withstood several tropical storms and all the constant summer heat without any discoloration peels or cracks.
I am very pleased with the products of FIBERTEC WINDOW & DOORS and also the service I have received.

When I started Shopping replacement windows for our home, my main goal was to get the best performance windows for our budget.
I work as a "Certified Home Energy Advisor", and that helps me to compare the main choices available. in the end, Fibertec won out, and we are very pleased with our decision - as the quality, performance, and price and after sale support has been everything we expected.
I would definitely recommend Fibertec to anyone looking for good value in a high performance window.
